Afodoe, is a village in the Volta region of Ghana off set from the main road. Being about 5 miles from tro tro (the main source of transportation in Ghana; small busses that run up and down the main road to the capital, Accra) access means an extremely small market to sell their crops to, which increases the difficulty in making money.
Because of this, the children of that village have no proper school to attend, and instead bring their chairs from home and sit under a tree when the weather permits, with only one teacher responsible for the education of six grades.
The efficiency of a classroom is very sensitive to its environment and general mentality of the educational system. Without necessary educational tools, it is nearly impossible to institute effective school programs.
The process it rather simple; with small donations, we can make an enormous impact on a poverty stricken community by providing a structure for the youth to attend school in, and the opportunity to navigate their way out of poverty.
Together we can make a difference for the underprivileged population throughout the world
